Some say that the ceremony is the most important part of a wedding. I guess this is true since the legal words that make a marriage valid are included in it. It's also the part of a wedding where the guests see the "dress" for the first time. Or the cute children that are part of the wedding party. Or maybe even the handsome groom that somehow makes his own grand entrance.
Whatever it may be, I think the ceremony is highly important and I want to make yours the best!

When we first meet, we will get the legal docs out of the way and then get into the fun stuff. We will talk about you as a couple, your dreams for the future and your ceremony. This meeting is also when we start to plan your dream ceremony with no detail left out.. I will ask questions and bounce ideas. So come prepared with some answers to those "blind date" type questions.

What do I need to have ready for our meeting?

What are the legal requirements to get married in Australia?

To be legally married in Australia, a person must: * not be married to someone else * not be in a prohibited relationship i.e. marrying a parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, brother or sister * be at least 18 years old, unless a court has approved a marriage where one party is aged between 16 and 18 years old * understand what marriage means and freely consent to marrying use specific words during the ceremony * give written notice of their intention to marry to their authorised celebrant, within the required time frame. This is what we call the NOIM and must be completed at least one month prior your wedding date and it is valid for 18 months.

Do I need to have a rehearsal?

How often will we speak or meet face to face?

I like to have at least 2 face to face meetings. 1 to meet first up, sign the Notice of Intended Marriage and get the ball rolling. Then another within a fortnight of your ceremony (or closer if you are having a rehearsal) However, if there are reasons to meet more than twice then this is fine and a mutual time can be arranged. I am contactable via email and phone, even FaceTime and certainly won't limit the amount of times you can contact me.
